Post title: .sdlproj format/extension?
I'm going to guess the project was delivered to you in the .sdlproj format/extension.
If not, you can ask the client to provide a .sdlxliff file, or if you have access to SDL Trados Studio, you can open the project and export the bilingual .sdlxliff file yourself.
After that, you can work easily with the file in MemoQ.
