Hi,

I've a document including several x% figures that I want to change into %x format all at once, rather than doing manually each time. I need to move all the numbers after the % symbol, i.e. 5%,> %5

Second, project also includes several figures with comma, i.e. 80,000 that I need to change into full stop, i.e. 80.000.

MemoQ 15 in Pretranslation says: "There was an error while performing machine translation on one or more segments." No error code or error message title or anything. I know that today is Christmas and wish everybody very merry holidays but I hope that somebody is working (like me) and sees this SOS. Unfortunately, Kilgray is very slow in replying and even slower in fixing issues.

Hi Zeki,

I am not a memoQ user but regex in find and replace should help.

Find: (\d{1,3}),(\d{3,})
Replace: $1.$2

This finds and replaces, e.g.
1,234 to 1.234
12,345 to 12.345
123,456 to 123.456

As for the percentage sign, I hope the following one works.

Find: (\d{1,2})%
Replace: %$1

This should find and replace, e.g.
1% to %1
99% to %99

For 99.9% or 99.99% you may need a different rule.

But to access these objects you have not to simply zip the word file. It is necessary to change its extention tp .zip instead of .doc(x)
After that, this file can be opened with any Archiver and you may unzip "diagrams" folder.
There are many files in the "diagrams" folder: colorsX, dataX, drawingX, layoutX, quickStyleX.
They are all .xml files.
Text information (it is very unusual :) ) is stored in files called dataXX.xml
So simply import only these data and after translation and export simply copy and change into zipped file --> word --> diagrams.
Then you should be done.

Hi Zeki,

Create a new group for Turkish in Resource Console > Auto-translation rules.
Then add the following rules, first lines for auto translation rule and second line for replace rules.

(\d{1,2})%
%$1

(\d{1,2}).(\d{1,2})%
%$1,$2

(\d{1,3}),(\d{3,})
$1.$2

Finally, select this new group in Project > Settings > Autotranslation rules.

Translation Settings>Predictive Typing and Auto Pick > AutoPick

Number format :)

It helps for decimal symbol only, not for the percentage sign.

Dear Zeki,

Click "Review > Track Changes > Custom" and then select the "Snapshot" (the doc version you sent to the client for the file to be reviewed/proofread).

I was wondering what other people's experiences are with regards to the memoQ Support Center - I lodged a ticket on 12/12 regarding a Web Search error but apart from a few initial emails requesting extra information, nothing has been done and I haven't had any response to my emails as of 15/12. I know it's the holiday season but if that meant closure of business or a slower response, wouldn't a notification to that effect be in order for customers contacting Kilgray?

Personally I am not very happy with my experiences so far. Am I expecting too much or being too impatient?

Separately, would anyone know how to fix Web Search - it seemed to have stopped working after a forced Windows reboot. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

I don't know if it helps, but I keep getting the error message too, when trying to use the Web Search. The difference is that I'm using their free 30 day free trial. I figured the web search was only available with the purchase of license. So yeah, I think I'm going to stick with TRADOS.

After a couple of weeks of silence Kilgray got back to me 2 days ago and helped me solve the issue. Apparently it had to do with the fact there are multiple user accounts on my laptop. It's up and running again.

Once you send an email to Kilgray support at [email removed] you can always login to the ticket at [url removed] (using the same email that you mailed from) and raise the priority. I once had a situation where a completed document would not export for delivery - increasing the priority to Critical got a response within a few minutes.

Dear all,

I'm a new user of MemoQ (but very familiar with Studio and DVX2).

I’m preparing the alignment of a hefty annual report and have come across a problem with segmentation. The alignment in LiveDocs started off with around 17k segments, and the first few segments were fine and easy to align. I then came across some tables that were misaligned, so I corrected the first few items using synchro/cross links and then re-ran the alignment (run aligner) for the rest of the document – this corrected the incorrect table entries, but seems to have re-segmented subsequent segments by merging quite a lot of sentences into single segments, so that my number of segments has now reduced from 17k to 15k and they are completely misaligned. It now looks like a massive job to correct them.

I see that the segmentation rule for German is fixed and is set to segment where there is a full stop, so I’m not sure that this should have happened. Does anyone know if there is any way that I can fix this or have I been following an incorrect process?
