My shortcut is fine: "C:\Program Files\memoQ\memoQ-9\MemoQ.exe"

The splash screen still says 8.7, but under My MemoQ, it says 9.0.8.

Support say they're aware of the bug and will fix it.

Hello, I recently upgraded to Memoq 9.0, I really like it & it was working perfectly until a couple of days ago, but now the "Find", "Find Next", &"Find & Replace" buttons are no longer working, or if they are, the search pane is "hidden"; this is VERY frustrating as I use these functions all the time!! I haven't contacted Kilgray yet as I no longer have paid support, I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I uninstalled & reinstalled Memoq, but to no avail...... Whether I click the buttons or do Control F, it's the same thing, the search pane is no longer visible ANYWHERE....

hi folks,

I have got this customer who sends a whopper of a TM included in his tiny jobs, and I have to wait 50+ minutes just so the TM in the package is imported and then translate 5-20 words...

I've looked, but couldn't find any option to disable the TM of the package from importing. I believe in SDL there is such (or similar) option. Is there anything like that in memoQ as well? If not, how can I disable that?

(I haven't upgraded to 9.0 yet, so I cannot tell from direct experience.)

I apologise beforehand if this is a silly question, but do you have two screens? Is it possible that the dialog appears in the second screen? If you only have one screen, have you tried changing the resolution to a higher one temporarily? I wonder whether the dialog box is there, but for some odd reason somewhere outside your current screen by dragging it there accidentally. A higher resolution may be a way to discard this.

Hi Tomas, yes I did think of that, and no, I just have 1 screen, I'll check the resolution, I know what you mean about dragging the dialogue box to the corner or something, good suggestion, thanks!!

Hello, for info, here is the solution from Kilgray, their support is great!

You can reset your user interface by the following steps:
- Close memoQ.
- Open the C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\MemoQ folder. This is a hidden folder by default, you need to enable the "Show hidden files and folders" option in Windows.
- Delete the: DockLayoutConfigs.bin; Preferences-editor.xml; Preferences-layout.xml; Preferences-lookup.xml files.
- Start memoQ.

I have a giant textfile with source in Chinese and English (only English is set as source, Chinese is only displayed but not active, just there for reference in the source segments) and target in Swedish. Because the source contains Chinese characters as well as Pinyin and other diacritics this file is very heavy to save, even if I would split it.

I tried copied a selection of segments, and I can't copy much before it's impossible to save the file. Neither saving the sdlxliff nor as target works. It only works to save as clean target through this workaround:

In the Files view, right-click the file -> Batch Tasks -> Export Files.
Click Next, then select "Target version," then click Finish.

So I wonder if it could work if I just skip saving altogether and just confirm each translation into the translation memory. Then, after a few months (it's a BIG file), I use the above workaround and generate the target file in Swedish?

Or would MemoQ handle this big textfile better than SDL Trados Studio? I have the latest version of MemoQ as well, version 8.4. Should I switch to MemoQ in this case?

Hello everyone,

can the same procedure be done with 101% matches as well or do they need to be confirmed individually by selecting them all at once and then confirming them?

I have a project of about 650 documents so it would be helpful to find a way how to do all at once.

Hi Tjaša,

There are various ways to deal with this.
You can select all documents, right-click on them -> pre-translate and select the "Confirm and Lock 100% matches" in the pre-translation settings.
This will confirm and lock all 100% and 101% matches.

However, if you'd like to lock 101% matches only and not 100% matches, the following workaround might help:

Create a view of all files, open the view and sort the segments by "match rate - higher first". You'll then have the segments sorted by 101% matches, 100% matches, 99% etc. and can confirm and lock the 101% segments all at the same time. [Make sure that the "auto-synchronize on server" option is disabled as otherwise memoQ would synchronise your local project with the server after confirming the segments.]

Of course, with 650 documents, it might take a while for memoQ to load everything, but it will be worth the time. It will still be more time-saving than manually confirm 101% matches.

I had the same problem. I have an Asus Zenbook with high resolution screen and I fixed this issue by right clicking on the MemoQ desktop icon and then:
Memoq icon -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Change -> click the "Change high DPI settings" button -> check "Override high DPI scaling behavior, scaling performed by:" -> Select " System (Enhanced)" option in the box below.

Or some other application for archive handling. I suppose all these SDL and MemoQ packages are just ZIP-files with changed file extension name. Hope you can extract only mqxliff or other source file from project package.

I am sort of happy to know that someone else has my same problem! And I am really sorry that you have the same problem. Sometimes memoQ "unblocks" and it goes smooth and fast as it used to, then it slows down again. I thought it could be a problem linked to the spellcheck with Word so I deflagged that but no improvement. It could be an updating routine or something similar running in the background, a Windows update or similar, but who knows which component is slowing the whole memoQ down??!....

Try with the Support - I tried myself but got no useful answer. If you find out the solution, PLEASE tell me!! =)

Please navigate to C:\programdata\memoQ\resources\ and remove localresourcepath.xml file, then navigate to C:\users\appdata\roaming\memoQ and remove docklayoutconfigs, preferences, preferences-layout, preferences-lookup files.

Be sure memoQ is closed when you remove the files.

Dear colleagues, your help will be much appreciated.
Having bought a new computer, I installed memoQ ver. 7.8.179 and then transferred a folder containing all my memoQ projects, both local and online, to the new machine. The access path name is the same yet nothing happens as memoQ apparently "sees" no transferred projects. What am I doing wrong?

Go to MemoQ tab > Open Project > Open Project. You should see all your projects there if the path is correct. Click on a project to open its folder, then click on its project.mprx file. This should register the project and it should appear in the projects list.
